Seneca Trail Public School +
CLIENT: Durham District School Board
LOCATION: Oshawa
The school was designed to address the corner lot condition by locating the Resource Centre prominently over the main entrance. The exposed steel structure is intended to compliment the more traditional brick structure of the school and surrounding residential neighbourhood. Landscape features include an outdoor classroom using natural stone for the seating and berms for outdoor play. The school features a sunken gym with a stage and two storey clerestory area accessible immediately off the ground floor. The clerestory area was intended to act as an indoor play area for Kindergarten students and for display of art work.
